The Gateway is almost ready to be opened
May 18th 2006: Established in February 1996, Direct Visual has now passed its first decade of business. One of the first VC specialist businesses in the UK, Direct Visual’s expertise grew faster than most in the industry covering IP Networks, Audio Visual Applications, Audio Conferencing, IP Telephony and Professional Services.
Direct Visual is widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading independent video communications companies by all leading manufacturers, TANDBERG, Polycom, Sony, LifeSize, Cisco Systems, Emblaze-VCON, Radvision and Codian amongst others, Direct Visual takes pride in their exceptional relationships and strategic partnerships with the world leaders in its field.
With an ever growing team, and a turnover set to increase by 25% in just one year, Direct Visual are ‘bucking the trend’ in the marketplace and continuing to grow in the face of an increasingly competitive market.
Indeed the growth of ‘DV’ has seen them outgrow their current premises, with their new 5,000 square foot office premises, in Elland, West Yorkshire almost complete, the move represents a 150% increase in office space.
The new building has been aptly named ‘The Gateway’, signifying the direction the business now moves, and the potential of the technology.
The move is expected to be completed by the end of June 2006, bringing an end to nine years in Batley.
The new building will have two demonstration suites, a vast open plan office, two meeting rooms, two videoconferencing helpdesks, a new staff room, a research and development lab, vast storage space and a virtual reception desk.
Direct Visual has seen its client base increase in every sector this year, with massive organisations such as HJ Heinz and Honda and public sector organisations like Learning Teaching Scotland, Yorkshire Forward, Peninsular Cancer Network and the Houses of Parliament being added to their ever increasing customer base, DV’s future is looking very secure
On top of the additions Direct Visual has further strengthened its partnerships with its existing customers including AstraZeneca, Disability Rights Commission, Nissan, Department for Transport, a number of LEAs, Local Councils, Hospitals and a vast amount of businesses
Since they moved into the Batley Business and Technology Centre in 1997, Direct Visual has earned national recognition at the AV Awards, winning the Videoconferencing Project of the Year in 2004, and was also a runner-up in the Kirklees Business of the Year Awards in 1999.
Managing Director and co-founder of the company, Marina Shaw, comments; “The success of the business has been astounding. Since we moved into the BB&TC we have gone from strength to strength, building the business to become the leader in our industry in the UK.”
“We have found our time in Batley has been greatly beneficial to the company, and will be sad to leave. But when we go we will take fond memories with us.”
