Surgeons Share Their Skills Via Videoconferencing Link-Up

Internationally-renowned surgeons in the field of Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) medicine demonstrated their skills to an audience of health professionals via a live videoconferencing link-up at a major health conference.

Delegates at the British Academic Conference in Otolaryngology (BACO) witnessed live operations performed by a group of surgeons respected for their knowledge and expertise in the international healthcare sector.

In the first demonstration Professor Joe Toner from Northern Ireland performed an anatomical dissection at Birmingham's Heartlands Hospital and the intricate process was presented live to conference delegates at the city's International Conference Centre via a videoconferencing link-up managed by Direct Visual.

Later in the day, Dr Robert Vincent, a surgeon at the Clinique Causse in Colombiers, France, performed ear surgery which again was delivered live to the Birmingham delegates.

The link-up was organised as a unique, interactive training opportunity for conference delegates.
