| New Sales and Commercial Manager Appointed
Direct Visual, The UK’s Leading Independent Supplier of Videoconferencing, has appointed Steve Shaw as their Sales and
Commercial Manager after a successful period as the organisations Strategic Alliances Manager, as we push towards our
financial goal of doubling our turnover from £5 million to £10 million by March 2009.
Steve has been with the business since 1999 and has held a senior position within the business since 2000.
Starting his career with DV as a Salesman, Steve was promoted to the Head of Key Accounts in 2003, ensuring that all
customers were correctly managed and profit was maximised within existing accounts.
After a company restructure Steve became Co-Sales Manager in 2005, before accepting a new role in Strategic Alliances, to
build relationships with key organisations, allowing Direct Visual to grow as a business.
Owing to a successful period in Strategic Alliances, a period that saw Direct Visual build, maintain and strengthen
relationships with organisations including Computacenter, PC World for Business and IBM, Steve’s unrivalled experience and
man-management style was pinpointed as something which could be utilised once again within the sales team.
This was a hugely important step as the business built up to the crescendo of their current project, Double Dec-ker, which
aims to see the business double it’s turnover by the end of financial year 2008/09.
Steve has settled into the role very well and is excited by the challenge; “I have no doubt in my mind that the goal we have
set will be difficult to reach, but I also have absolute belief in our team, our ambition and my ability to lead the team
towards that goal.”
He then added; “I’m proud to be chosen to fulfil this role within the team, and am proud of the belief placed in me by our
Directors, Mike Phillips and Marina Shaw.”
Direct Visual is having an excellent year in 2007/08 and fully expects Steve to be a success in the present and future.
Chairman, Mike Phillips concluded; “Steve seemed the natural choice, he is a leader, and has the full backing of his sales
team. Steve’s man management skills are second to none and I’m delighted he accepted our offer to be the leader of the
driving force behind our companies’ goals.”
