Envisioning a Healthy Future with Direct Visual
Direct Visual awarded North of England Cancer Network and Hull and East Yorkshire Contracts
Direct Visual further proved its commitment to the Health Sector with news that they have been awarded the contracts for the supply, implementation and support of videoconferencing facilities to the Northern Cancer Network and to Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust.
The two contracts, both around quarter of a million, will see the two networks develop their video communications infrastructure, ensuring that they remain a leader in video communications in the healthcare sector.
Their solutions will include the latest in high definition videoconferencing technology, and will integrate with vital operating systems, allowing much needed interoperability for MDT meetings and patient reviews.
The North of England Cancer Network are investing in 13 new, High Definition, Polycom systems for their meeting rooms in 10 of their trusts. Each solution will come complete with an AMX control system, allowing their conference rooms to be fully controlled from a central point.
Direct Visual’s healthcare specialist, Danny Shaw, is delighted to have been chosen, and sees the project as real progress for the network; “North of England Cancer Network has always been a pioneer of video communications, but their early footsteps into video were a number of years ago and their existing solution, whilst the technology works, is a little behind the times.”
Danny added; “The dawn of HD videoconferencing and of improved standardisation across the industry has led to Polycom’s legacy systems becoming outdated. The move towards high definition, modern videoconferencing will ensure that the North of England will have the best possible facilities to provide the service they are renowned for.”
Direct Visual was also awarded the contract for the supply, implementation and support for the Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust, supplying solutions to two of the regions flagship hospitals.
The solutions will be implemented into two existing sites and into a brand new oncology wing currently being built.
Based upon TANDBERG technology, the solution will include a full Videoconferencing IP Network and new TANDBERG HD codecs, allowing the network to use their videoconferencing solution on their LAN, eliminating call costs and, ultimately, saving the trust on both call costs and on travel time and expenses.
Danny Shaw concluded; “I’m delighted that they’ve both chosen to work with us, we see this as further proof of our commitment to this industry, and to our reputation within healthcare.”
