Students Communicate Across The Globe
Students from a West Yorkshire School are meeting colleagues across the globe without leaving their desks thanks to the very latest communications technology.
Staff at the school have invested in Remote Review Classroom, supplied by Direct Visual, which is opening up a whole new world of educational opportunities.
They are holding link-ups between Halifax and schools in Germany, France, Spain and Czechoslovakia for first hand modern language practice and the exchange of cultural and lifestyle experiences.
Closer to home, the technology is used for 'virtual visits' to the National Mining Museum in Wakefield, and the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
The Deputy Headteacher explains: "Remote Review is a very exciting development for the school which will revolutionise classroom-based learning for our students and add a whole new dimension to the curriculum." |
