Direct Visual and Cisco Lead The Way In IP Conference Solutions

Cisco Systems and Direct Visual joined forces to teach LEA Representatives from across the UK the finer points of firewall traversal and network problems when using visual communications over IP.

The event was held on two sites simultaneously with speakers addressing the attendees at both venues via the use of Videoconferencing technology; these sites were Cisco headquarters in Feltham and Didsbury.

Speakers included Direct Visual Technical Manager Glen Sykes, Education Sector Specialist Tim Hoddy, Cisco Systems' Neil Thomas and Lucia Duggan and Tim Boundy of the National Space Centre.

The event was designed to inform LEA's of the pit falls and problems that may arise when trying to connect out of a private network using visual communications technology. It provided an overview of the entire process from conception of an idea to implementation of technology, right through to the application and uses of visual communications in education.
