| Direct Visual Nominated for Videoconferencing Project of the Year
Having won the AV Awards’ Videoconferencing Project of the Year prize in 2004 for the Durham Testbed Project, Direct Visual has once again been listed in the final 4 for the award, this time for their work with the Worldwide Universities Network, and more specifically, Leeds University.
They missed out on the award in 2006 having been listed amongst the finalists for the Cheshire Police Force videoconferencing project, and were disappointingly a beaten finalist in 2005 for the Sunderland LEA distance learning project.
This year’s award though follows some excellent work implementing an IP Network and videoconferencing solutions into Leeds University to ensure that they could play their part in the Worldwide Universities Network.
The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) is an organisation set up to support innovation in research and education, on a global scale, through interdisciplinary collaboration, faculty and student exchange and eLearning.
AV interactive, the organisation who run the awards, known as the ‘Oscars’ of the AV Industry, will be hosting the awards ceremony on Friday October 12th at the London Hilton.
Direct Visual is very proud to be nominated once again, and win or lose they are proud of their ongoing work in the Distance Learning arena.
